Game looks great, but...

I love the way this game looks but I became stuck immediately. Once I start a road, it won’t let me cancel the road building process so I have to shut down the game. I’ve tried right clicking (the way it worked in Tropico 3 and 4), changing hot keys, and even checked around the internet to find that this problem exists for many.

If anyone has a remedy, please let me know. The game looks fun and I want to play! :( Thanks!
